i found a mf 16 locally. i am going to look at it tonight, so i have questions about them.

what should i look out for?

what are the weak points?

is the 3 point hitch hydraulic lift?

is there hydraulic lifts for attachments?

hydraulic remotes/ports?

i was told it is 90% restored, therefore the guy wants $1,500

3 points are hydraulic and not very common. Check the usuals on the k341 16 kohler: smoking, knocking, etc. Check the driveshaft and u joints. That can be fixed but not for a 1500 price. Also the steering on these has a few wear points. I had to replace the front axle and spindles in mine and still have to work on the center pivot. For 1500, to me it should need nothing and should have a 3 point for sure. All attachment are hydraulic lift through linkages. 3 point has its own cylinder plumbed along with the belly cylinder. They both operate at the same time. There are lockout bars when you only want one to work. No hydro remotes.

That's 1k per tractor and too high to me. Especially with a bad rear. That 16 here would be less than half that with a questionable rear. 14 is more common and usually only bring 700 to 900 here running with an attachment. I know nothing about the 21.

Take pictures and show us. 16's are not very common. Would be a great tractor. I have a 14. Never heard of a 21, maybe that's a 12 ?

One of mine had the transaxle serviced and the bill was $860 10 years ago.  I would tell him that makes it worth zip or 100 since it is a cxxp shoot on whether you will come out good.

Both have new paint- Not Massey Flint gray, but I think they still look nice, Both have new parts such as key switches other elec. parts. New batt. in one, Newer elec clutch in other, new belts . Decks ars in very nice shape. One deck does have a couple of patches but done well. These are ready to mow and work. Heres more pics. Tom.

I'd love to have one for my tiller but my tractor funds tell me otherwise. Nice machines.

This guy seems to be quite high priced .  These are great tractors but buyer be where.  1500 this thing should have a 3 point and all the attachments working and functional i.e. front blade - tiller - mower deck - snow blower - and a factory 3 point hitch.

If some one could show me an mf 16 like that I would jump on it.  Other wise 3-500 us dollars depending on condition.

I am state side and those thing may be worth more up there but be careful not to get used.

One other thing is that the cut out behind the seat in the rear cowl is never taken out unless the tractor had a 3 point installed.  Appears both had and they were taken off.
