If I was more pessimistic I'd say no good deed goes unpunished.

I dislike snakes. I have only see a couple around my property. Usually black snakes. Last summer we rented a big shop at work and it was full of black snakes. I counted 2 dozen in there one day. They'd be lounging around different areas. No mice though!

I was walking into the back storage area stepped on a black garden hose and almost needed a change of shorts...

Found #2 last night in the yard up by the house. I almost stepped on it. This one was a little more agressive, it was whipping it's tail in my hand, started Musking, and biting my boot. It was maybe 3 1/2' long, maybe the male mate to the big one. It ended up down the road in the wooded area with the other one.

It was actually probably a female due to size and it had a shorter tail from it "back end" opening.

Wow Marty I've never stopped running long enough to know that

HAHA.

I make sure I get close and I look them square in the eye to see if they are venomous too :loosing_it:

Jim, we are actually snake keepers, my son has 4 ( looking to get #5), I have one. I pulled a Steve Irwin and grabbed them by the tail and then let them calm down a bit before handling them too much.

On the longer, skinnier snakes like a black snake, the male usually has more scales behind the cloaca and a slighter longer tail than the female, Shorter, stocker snakes like our Ball python are harder to tell as they all have short tails.
