Off topic a little but were these mower decks used for quite a few years? I never really asked what the deck size was on this

And it looks like the chain bracket is there but just in the wrong location as talntedmrgreen pointed out. I think that's what he was referring to

No its gone. What you are seeing is the lift lever on the rockshaft. Yes the cable is what lifts the sickle bar.

Turns out the part that was circled on an earlier post is broke and would need welded or replaced.

I was gonna trade this for it as I am not a John Deere guy myself but I think I may pass on itIMG_20160612_163032_726.jpg IMG_20160612_162950_366.jpg IMG_20160612_152622_409.jpg IMG_20160424_162653_240.jpg
It has the Kohler K321 out of it for a rebuild. The last pic is the day I got it before I cleaned it up.

Now that's a nice, clean, functional 112. Wish the one I posted was like this one

I was trying to figure out if the trade would be worth it for that specific model 112. Cause that's like the basic model being all manual lift right? And then the sickle needing the work that it does I just wasn't sure if the trade was a fair one

What do you value your 140 at? Does this B-112 run? At this point we know the sickle knife bar appears to be  broken and who knows what else is wrong. It could have been run too fast. Parts are not readily available though there was a guy repoping some parts. I would consider that a parts sicklebar.  The tractor does not look cared for. If its not running it could be as simple as the breaker points and carb needing cleaning but it could be as major as a blown engine. The BGB is also a common wear point. Nothing is known of its condition. The variable speed is also a common wear point and may need an overhaul.

Thanks acmowerguy. It doesn't have a gas tank but claims it runs. I kinda took my 2 sets of wheel weights as equal to the sickle bar(if functional) then they both have decks and his claims to run and mine trys but just won't but I'm gonna mess with that tomorrow. I would love to trade this for a b112 with a sicklebar but don't this is the right one. I don't care if it has mower deck or not cause I already have an AC 616 hydro that mows great. Wanted one to be a work horse and that's it.
