This thing just followed me home from the scrap yard 20160609_112109_zps6xvu4mzs.jpg
Just wondering if there any way to tell the year it was made? Here the serial number 20160609_112101_zpsdhmvcyut.jpg
I have to give 50 bucks for it, I hope I didn't get hurt to bad but iv been wanting one so long I hated to see it go that way. Maybe I can find another one and use it for parts lol

Is it mangled or just the photo showing it looking twisted? Yours has the guard on it, up my way, they bring 50-100 not running and in worse condition, so if the engine turns over by hand, you should be good. Carbs are cheap enough on those small tecumseh engines that it shouldn't take much to get running again.

Only. $50? "you suck" I see them on Craigslist for 4 to 5 times that even not running around here even the smaller models like a pony or bronco
I have an 8hp Kohler collecting dust that would be great for that if the current engine was beyond repair.

The sheld for the tines is twisted up pretty bad and the handlebars are missing, and the high low gear shift lever is broken off. other that that it look all there. It amazing to me what people will haul off for junk lol!

Just checked it everything turns over engine and transmission

That's a Horse II with the 6 Hp Tecumseh. Good buy.

Nice. The manuals for it are in the Manuals Section. You are going to need a parts machine to find the handles. The shifter breaking off may be an indication of internal problems. They are rebuilable and the parts are still on Epay. Good Luck, Rick

I found the handle bars on ebay, but a buddy of mine is suppose to be checking with a guy on another one. After looking closer I think I could fab up most everything except the Handle bars anyway. Actually everything looks pretty good except for the missing peaces and wore out tines. The only part that bothers me much is it won't shift down into low gear, I can find high and neutral.

They are hard to shift unless they are moving. I found one on C list last year for $75.00 complete. I ran the 6 hp Tecumseh until the cam broke. I put a clone motor on it. Don

If I read 313837  then it was built in Feb 1978

613837 would be May 82 as Don stated earlier.

The biggest problem with the Horse tillers is the bronze worm gear for the tine gear box gets stripped, but all the parts are available on Ebay, that`s where i`ve gotten parts for mine.
