While Justin Davis was making a delivery to the Malardy household, 5 yo Jessica M. slipped in his vehicle and released the parking brake. Though narrowly missing the family dog, no one was seriously injured. When asked to make a statement, Jessica simply said, "Vroom, vroooom!"

Was doing my job dropping parcels and parts

When a squirrel runs up to my truck and darts

In the door as if he was on a mission

He somehow managed to shift the transmission

From park to drive he got it engaged

And the scene unfolded like a magazine page

He hit the gas and the truck moved ahead

Right about then I wished he was dead

From the street it turned and found a house

Oh God why couldn't it have been a mouse

It headed down hill and picked up speed

This was going to be a 911 call indeed

I watched in horror as the truck made a run

Into the front door like a bullet from a gun

It made a loud noise and came to a halt

Like an army tank making an assault

The rescue people showed up with saws and a truck

And started to work getting my vehicle unstuck

When out bounded the squirrel and across the lawn

And in a fleeting moment the instigator was gone

I hope you believe my tale of woe

For now I have to tell it to my boss - off I go

To fill out paper and forms and such

Because of a squirrel and his four pawed touch!
