Well I got it mowing yesterday , only took two passes because of a rats nest in my engine bay and did not want to heat the old steed up.  Got it torn down now and ordering a few parts. Seems to me that something is wrong with the way the deck hangs ..I know its suppose to be a little lower in the front but according to the instructions it says lengthen the adjustment arms and I am at max length. So in other words the front cannot be raised any higher.  The cut height I have it adjusted at works for me and the cut is even on both side but man this thing just looks nose low to me. The rear wheels don't touch the ground unless I drop the deck down but then the cut is to low. Is this correct or should I be trying to figure it out?

Did you try shortening those arms? Can't tell what deck is under there from the pics. What width is it? I looked at a couple decks here to see how to adjust to level, but not sure which deck you have.

Yeah when I shorten the arms it lowers the nose....I'll take a better photo of the mounting its the 48" 917.251030

I was wondering about the rear hanging bracket I am not sure if its directional at all I can't find any installation instructions on that part.

Can you get a closer pic of the deck linkage in both the up and down position? Just a side view closer so we can see under there better.

I have 2 thoughts on what may be part of the issue. First is the length the rear eyebolts are at. Next is the length of parts 18 in the listing.

I'm am by far no guru on these models. Maybe someone else has an idea.

A little closer than I wanted, but I see no adjustment to help in those!

Definitely pointing down. I tried a few things and nothing is working. First I tried reversing the rear lift "hanger" thinking because of the offset in the center hole between the two it would  shift the deck forward a bit helping to lift the front. Its funny because adjusting the front top rod longer make the front of the deck higher. Thats causes it to pivot on the lower front rods and lifts the front. Everything looks installed correct and no amount of adjustment seems to be fixing this. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the lifting rods are different front a 42" deck and I have the wrong ones. I had a 42" for spare parts although I only used the mandrels off it and the wheels.

All the way down with just one click up to get the glides off the ground.

Middle adjustment about where I would like to be mowing just a tad to high, the  higher i go the more level it gets.

A couple more photos just in case someone see something wrong

The blue hanger with the two bolts is what I reversed if you look its straight one way and  slanted another looks like the center hole is off set to the front and back just a little. Looks more natural the other way

ok just looked up the 48" deck and the 42" parallel arms are the same for both so can't be a mix up there

I think thats the 42" deck ....I notice the rear springs and the galvanized (#18) part housing brace. those were two things I noticed that were different from the 42 as I was pulling it apart.
