John Deere D105 lawn tractor shuts down when I try to mow in reverse.

When I try to mow in reverse mower shuts down.

 

I followed instructions re pushing the reverse implementation switch but when I shift into reverse mower shuts down! :loosing_it: 

 

HELP!!

Then it sounds like the the switch is misbehaving. I'd start by cleaning the terminals and see what happens. If it still does it, then temporarily bypass it and see what happens. If that takes care of it, then install a new switch.

My auto Deere has a button on dash, I press before pushing reverse pedal and all is good. BUT, once you let up on pedal, say to slow down or stop, it needs to be pushed again to go.  Not sure how manual works. Is button on dash?  Try holding and waiting till in gear and moving?  Maybe just procedure is wrong?  Think this safety stuff now goes to a control box/selinoid, maybe yours is bad if you have been using until this time.
