Finally got something I've been wanting for a while now. Probably on everyone's list.

Snagged this Johnson Workhorse 10 loader. Few hoses need replaced and a tooth bar for the bucket but otherwise is in good shape.

Nows the question on what to mount it on. I was hoping the Massey 1655 but worry the loader may be too small. I'm sure I could make it fit.

This machine does not have a front engine pto which would be the ideal spot for a Case pump setup for the loader. Plus it's plenty big and heavy duty. What do you all think?
Others on the list are
MTD 990
Massey 14 or 16
Economy 1614.

I like the idea of the 1655 foot control.

Eric, looks like anything that you do with it will be a hassle. Tell you what run it to my place...no...you know what I will run over to your place and haul it off to my place to save you the stress.... :smilewink:  On a serious note put it on the 1655. The other machines you have are big and stout enough too but the foot control with a loader will be the way to go.

I was told it's a 10 but every pic I see on searching shows the 10 has one single bucket tilt cylinder. This one has 2. How does one identify these loaders? What do I look for?

Foot pedal would be really nice, I have a 20hp Kubota that's gear drive and it would be handy to have hydrostat. I have a KwikWay Garden Master loader that I'm going to put on my bolens HT23 and I can't wait because it has foot control hydro.

The foot pedal is better.
Keep in mind you can make one with a little effort

Eric, I will take that loader off your hands, install it on my 1655.and let you know how it works. Then, we can figure out how it will work on yours later. Good snag bud.

I wish I could post some pics now of the install but have a few things going on. It's my mother's birthday today so that eats whatever time I have. We are packing up to head there now.

I still have to locate some engine isolator mounts for this 1655 before it's ready to go. The hydro pump is back in and awaiting the rest of the driveline to be reattached. Those mounts are what's stopping progress right now as 2 came apart when removing the engine. After some crude measurements, it should fit fine and place the controls right next to the throttle lever on the 1655. That's a win to me.

Since I have another thread going in the 1655. Figured it'd be easier to also do the loader pics in it. Here's the link.
