Hello all. I bought an old craftsman model 917.8420 last fall. It has a snow blower that I used for my driveway. I wonder when it was built? It is a white tractor with grey frame. It has a Tecumseh engine i believe. Thank you for the help.

If it's a techumseh, it's probably in the 60 or 70 range year wise. The number you posted didn't show on any of the sites I trust to be accurate. Doesn't mean it's wrong, just not listed. If you don't mind double checking the model & putting a couple of pics, we should be able to get close at the very least.

Went to sears.com & did find an exploded view of it... Kinda tough to get year, but am thinking mid 60's by the grill, etc. It may well be earlier than that. The craftsman badge is confusing me a little, I will continue to look around, but the pics will help.

Looks to be the one you have. The website says it's a 1965 Craftsman Heavy Duty!

Welcome to GT Talk. You will find this place to be far superior to any other site of its kind...well I like it anyhow. Cool tractor, that thing is quite different.

I was looking at that site last nite, but somehow missed the model number on the list.

That's a really nice unit! Thanks so much for sharing, I've never seen one before...

Harry, welcome to the forum. That's a nice looking tractor and you have a snow blower with it? Glad it worked for you this winter.

I have only seen a few. Mine is in parts. Started working on it and then got side tracked. If you can post some pictures- would like to see it.
