So I went to try and start the D750 and no dice. Any ideas? It has an electric pump hooked up to supply the mechanical one, and has fuel coming out the return lines, but no start, just smoke out the muffler.

Got it! Had to get all the air out and switch to a full battery, mine was half dead and wouldn't crank fast enough.

Sounds great, but she needs a permanent fuel tank, and a radiator. About how big (width and height) will it have to be to cool the engine properly? I wish i could have run it longer, but i didnt want to burn it out. But to hear it roar to life and watch the smoke pour out was pretty great, esspecially since its the first diesel i can call my own.

I'm sure that ebay radiator would cool it fine.

Ok, I'll order one of them up. If the hydraulic pump off the D600 will fit your engine then I'll sell it to you.

that d600 is off a rice harvester. i bought one identical to it. you can either get a block off plate for the hydraulic pump or a rubber/metal plug. I actually bought both of them for mine because i didnt know what one i wanted to use.

Would you happen to know if the pump off the D600 will fit a D1005?

The d600 is part of the super mini series of engines and your d1005 is a super 05 series motor so i dont know if it will interchange. i think the bolt spacing and diameter on the pump would need to be measured as well as the slot in the fuel camshaft of the engine. only 2 bolts hold the pump on diagnally from each other. pump is located by the bore in the injection housing section of the block so i would also measure that.
Or you could just take a gamble and see if it bolts up.
Heres the part numbers for original poster for block off plate and plug if they remove the pump
block off plate- 15841-83350
gasket- 15841-83112
OR
rubber metal plug - 16851-16212

Thanks, I'll save those part numbers for later. I already have the pump removed for measuring so any that you need I will take.

I've not had time to even look at mine, but if someone wants to buy, most certainly let her go. I might have to alter my frame to even use, but like I said, no time to even look close.

Ok, but I don't have any other buyers yet, so you have some time. I might sell the whole D600 though to help pay for one project and another motor for my crawler.
