Hi Guys,

I just made a deal on my first Bolens; a Power Ho walk behind tractor powered by a Kohler engine that came with a mounted reel mower that I think is neat!

I've seen a number of Bolens that look similar powered by different engines. Is there a good source of history/info for these tractors such as the different models, the difference between the models, when they were manufactured, etc?

Thanks in advance for any education! Rob

The power ho's generally had B&S engines with a few exception models having Clinton's

The Kohler is definitely a re power at some point in its life, if you have pics we can ID it for you and provide a bit more info for you

Looks more like a Versa-matic. They used the Kohler and had that kind of drive. Does it still have the tag down by the drawbar? It should have a model number.

I would agree that it appears to be a Versa-Matic. One particular feature of the Versa-Matics is reverse, which the Power Ho line did not have (unfortunately).

Thats a Versa-Matic

It looks like someone replaced the front grille with an older model one , that engine looks like a K160 and the whole drive system is from the Heavy Duty versa-Matic model

Thanks guys, I appreciate the education! I guess that shows how much I know about the Bolens tractors at this time.

It's not home yet, but will be this weekend and will take a closer look, confirm if there is an ID tag and take more pictures then.

Is there a good Bolens Website that describes and shows the difference in the various models?

Thanks, Rob

We probably have more bolens info here than anywhere else. The manuals section is loaded with bolens info.
