I have had this tractor for several years and have found no information on it . Shaw used nelson brothers engines for a short period of time for some reason , I have seen pictures of other Shaw tractors with a Nelson brothers engine on it does anyone here have or know of one?  Thanks Chuck

I know of this one. It has the tin shroud instead of the cast one like yours. I think this one was considered the T45D2 and yours would have been the T45D3. Does yours have the full model on the tag?

Nelson engines seem to have been used only during 1933.  The reason for their use is unknown at this time.  They are only shown in Catalog 15.

Hi Cliff Thanks for posting this information! I have never seen information in print advertising the Nelson engine. The engine on mine has a Tillotson carburetor not the Nelson made carb that most have ,  so I looked it up on the ASECC site  in the Tillotson  carb. section and it confirmed that it was installed on a 33-34 engine The engine also has a low serial number VFG67   Chuck
