Does anyone know how I can I determine what size kohler engine I have in my 69 PK.
It has been replaced and then rebuilt. I believe its a k series. may be 8 hp.
do they have serial numbers.

The 10, 12 and 14HP. have 9 head bolts, and the 16HP Kohler has 10 head bolts.

The K-161, 181 has 7 head bolts, that is a 7 or 8HP Kohler.

Yes, in the area around the crankshaft output. Note in rare exceptions, some marked K241 are actually K301.

Is this correct ?

K-301 = 12hp
K-321 = 14hp
K-341 = 16hp

Thanks for the information.
This sure will make it easier to know what I'm looking when searching for the engine that I need.
