A local guy has a collection of tractors that hes trying to sell. One of them is a D-250, that has a 4 cylinder engine. Its a very cool tractor, but seems to be a bit rough, and has no attachments. Seller claims it ran two years ago when last used. The price is $850. I obviously want the tractor, but is $850 to much?
Any advice would be greatly appricated.

I didn't know that they had a 4 cyl on them! I've heard that they're very capable machines though. I'd say that if it were in decent shape, and in near perfect working order, then that's probably not out of line.

If the engine is a good runner, then $850 is a very good deal!

Even if the rest of the tractor is rough? With no attachments? I beleive the tractor is very restorable, but it would take some work.

D-250's bring 1500. to 2000.00 with a mower deck. They usually have the standard 3pt and rear PTO on them. Mike is right on the engine, 4cyl. Renault somewhere around 20 hp.. Hard to find these tractors, 850. sound like a good price to me...
