I recently bought a Bolens 1502 Hydro with the 48" pto driven mower deck with the front mount. Is there a way to operate the rear lift separate from the mower deck ? Also, how do you disengage the rear pto for travel when moving from one location to another ? Thanks

The mower deck lifts from the 3 point hitch, so there is no way to operate them separately unless you disconnect the mower deck lift cables or remove the mower deck completely. For the rear PTO, you must depress the clutch and come to a complete stop before engaging, disengaging or changing PTO speeds. The rear PTO should always be placed in the neutral position when it is not in use with an implement.

Where is the lever to place the rear PTO in neutral ? Is this a different one from the lever to switch from low to hi range for the transmission ?

Thanks

Yes, there is a lever to your left of the seat that controls the rear PTO. It has 3 speeds and a neutral position. PTO-Lever.jpg

If the decal is still there it should read 1-2-N-31-2-N-3.jpg

Great. Going to walk down to the barn and check it out.

Thanks again.
