Gonna be a wild one today! Got up early to milk, as I have herd vet check at 10:30. Got a call from Southern States Coop this morning. They will be here at noon to spray our 150 acres of corn ground. So I have to shoot to the fields with the loader & fill in the holes where I plugged the bad field drainage tiles before he or the vet gets here. Soon as he gets a field sprayed, I'll be planting our corn. Normally I spray my own corn, but one man down, and fields have been so wet that we are too far behind to spray ourselves.
Gonna be a wild week or so till I get the corn all planted. BTW, I cut the alfalfa yesterday & have that to tedder today too, but Josh will have to do that honor. I'll have to roll it tomorrow if it is cured enough. No shortage of work for me!
Enough talking....gotta run!

I hope that everything works out for you today and no breakdowns to slow you down Daniel! Wish you were closer and I'd come down and give you a hand.

That is the life of a Farmer Daniel. They were saying on the News this morning that only 3% of Iowa's corn acreage was planted last week.
And today 60% is in the ground. Be careful out there, it's a dangerous job when the hours get long!!

Daniel
Hope no breakdowns and all goes well.
Be careful.
We are still not on the ground yet and alfalfa is about 2-3 Inches.
Some are straggling with Manure as there pits are about to run over.
Not good up here.

Waiting on the vet, got everything else all lined up for the rest of the day. Oyr manure pit started overflowing yesterday when Josh scraped the lot. Soon as we get the alfalfa up, manure (or should I say green water, as it's little manure in there from the rains) goes on that ground. Gonna be a hard few days, but great to get crop in the ground & hay up! Giving MIL cookout for a late Mother's Day this afternoon around 6pm. I may be late! LOL

Don't forget about Daniel! Get your rest & eat you veggies! You're already 1 man down, don't make it two.

Hope it all goes well my friend.

All's well so far. Vet check just finished, so time for some grub. While waiting for vet to arrive, I took the blades off my JD F935, sharpened them, & got them back on. I don't wait well....have to be doing something! After grub, finish filling patched/plugged field tile holes, then plant some corn.

I'd say good luck, but It's probably too late for that now. It sounds like you got it all done! Congrats! ...So how was the cookout?
