When I was a kid in the late 50s and early 60s we lived in the country. We had a little country store about 2 miles from us. They closed at 8pm every night. Once a week in the summer, my dad would give me $ .50cents to ride my bike there and get 4 pounds of bologna. I always liked doing it because the owner or his wife would give me a pop ( soda to some of you) to take with me as long as I brought the bottle back the next time. If he was feeling really good he would give me sleeve of Necco candy. In grade school  y lunch consisted of bologna or peanut butter and jelly or just butter and sugar sandwiches. Just had to share a memory.
