Dave,
Hope to see you tomorrow, but understand if not in the mood to socialize. Sorry it didn't turn out as hoped.

Had been looking forward to seeing the HMS Rainmaker and you again. That and meeting the HDT.
BTW! We don't have trophys here, so it its just a paint job issue, bring her on by... No one will laugh.

Unless it's pink

Then I'll Bust a gut. Just warning ya.

I'm gonna skip the plow day.  I'm really not in the mood for socializing.

There IS a paint issue, but there other issues as well.

Among other things, the 3-pt wasn't put back together properly, and won't spread out far enough to mount the plow.  Not to mention that IF I could get the plow on it, the lift linkage from the 3-pt to the tractor would have come apart not long after I started plowing.  You can see that in the pics.

I will say that the seat came out good, but other than that....

Here are a few pics so you guys can see just what it looks like.

Sorry to hear this OB but I hate to say it doesn't surprise me, I'm still waiting for a $40 refund on a part that was discontinued last October!

There seem top be a couple minor allignment issues.
Are the mechanicals in better shape?
I didn't see pics of the three point area, so I will use my imagination.

Wow Dave I'm surprised because he did such a nice job on the 1886 forklift and this is a 180 form that I would understand if he didn't have enough time but he has had more than enough an I hope he didn't make u pay a lot my hdt is beat up a lot more than yours is an he could have done a better job than that. That's why I do my own work. I might not be the best but I do it until I'm happy

I sure am sorry to hear about this,  I was kind of afraid it would not be up to par when I heard about the last time you went to pick it up.  Hopefully you will be able to get it all sorted out and be happy with it.  At least is isn't PINK!  Although I know Alan is disappointed. :rolling:

Ben did this ??

Yes.

There seem top be a couple minor allignment issues.
Are the mechanicals in better shape?
I didn't see pics of the three point area, so I will use my imagination.

He used bolts and nuts at the top of the adjustable arms.  It's supposed to use pins that leaves a bit of a gap.  With the bolts and nuts, the arm can't pivot out far enough to mount an attachment.

When I was driving it around before loading it up I was noticing a 'clunk' coming from the rear end.  It was intermittent, not a regular thing.

When I transferred it to the fella that is going to correct all the issues, I had him drive it to listen for the clunk to see what he thought.

As he drove away, I saw what the problem was.  The right wheel was wobbling.  Turns out not all the lug nuts were installed and the others were loose. :(

Lord only knows what else he's going to find that was half assed.

By the way, the gentleman that is doing the fixing wishes to remain anonymous, so please don't ask who it is.

The hood decals are going to have to be redone, in the correct colors as well.

The top stripe is supposed to be a light, almost pastel green, not the close to chartreuse that's on it now.

Here's a pic of the original decal so you can compare it to what is on it now.

I'll have to get with the Clickit and Stickit guys to get all of that corrected.

To your anonymous mechanic,
We all wish him or them Godspeed on the project. Hopefully, the issues are less than they appear.

As to his or them remaining anonymous, Bernstein had an anonymous source, wiki leaks as well...
Does your mechanic have a code name?
:poke:

Sorry to hear about your disappointment Dave; I too have been in that situation myself a while back. I would much rather the 'restorer' was open about his capabilities or whether he got the time to actually do a proper job. Hopefully your new fella will get it to how you want it. Best of luck. Andrew

I know that colors on a computer screen aren't exactly accurate, but here is a picture I just took of a NOS decal that may help you with the correct color match.
