Has anybody put duals on a vickers hydro? Can the axle handle it?

I was thinking about putting duals on my S-16. Mine has the sunstrand hydro though. Do the vickers use the 20 series rear end?

I am thinking that the Dana rear was used with the Sunstrand and something different, possibly a Peerless, with the Vickers. Not sure where I got that from tho. I think it might be with the spec sheet in one of the manuals. But, I don't remember which one.....
Will this be for show or will it be weighted and used to the max? I think you would be ok doing that. If working it, a little care might be needed to make sure it isn't overworked.

Duals would make it very wide. I mounted 24x12-12 ag tires on 12x10.5 rims and it is exactly 47.75" wide. I like it but any wider and well.... You will run over a bunch of stuff, snagging numerous stuff along the way. Already rubbed one sidewall on a stump.

I found the pdf with the list. And it doesn't cover the models with the Vickers. Sorry

I don't really have anything to add other than I had never heard of anyone but Simplicity using the Vickers hydros and wondered if any other brand used them.

Did it say they used a Dana 20 for the sunstrand?

The early 70's New Holland and three Ariens models used a Vickers.

I think it said a Dana 120. Which I wonder if that is a renumbered 20.

Oh ok, that's probably what it is. I remember reading something saying it was a Dana 20 used in my S-16H.

I am looking at a project and thinking dual 6.00x16 Ag's. So they would be pretty narrow but would also have to account for the dual spacer in the width

So it would be more about the axle tube and bearing than the gearing in the rear?
