I wanted to say thank you all for your help. I am glad that it did turn out to be something simple. The timing of events I think is what made me go directly to the carb. I still should have known better.

Back to beating my head....

There are two different types that were used. The Onan 16hp that was in the 1655 when I got it had the coil with the thread on where the wire just stuck out a little to make contact. The B48 that was in a Case 448 and the Onan Performer 20hp I have in the 1655 now had the regular automotive ends on it. It all depends on the coil.

at least you found it... you may have done a 5th carb cleaning & put a new coil on before you discovered what was wrong.

Glad she's running again for you!

I got a message from the guy that bought the Snapper 1655 from me that something broke on it's second use. So I gotta pick it up and bring it home to work on it. It will have to wait till tomorrow because I still have to get all the stuff unloaded off the trailer. He sent me a picture and the belt tensioner bolt and spring were hanging out the side. I am guessing the belts broke but he said it still moves which I don't see how. I really can't stand the hydro drive setup they have with these belts. If it aint one it is the other LOL.

I did tell him he needs to understand this is used equipment and I am not warrantying anything, but since it is only the second use I will make it right.
