All winter and spring, I have been seeing the one gray fender and part of a seat of what I thought was a smaller Sears tractor. Ended up being an older Wheel Horse 8 hp. I didn't get the model, but the guy said it was carb issues. It comes with a good mower deck and a good parts deck. It's painted an unfortunate color of gray, but I think this will be a good fit for Kaylen. Oh, and it also comes with a 12 hp hydrostatic drive, hydraulic lift unit with a junk deck and a good (if a little rusty) snowblower. Tires on this are junk and neither unit runs, but both are free and they seem to be more or less complete. Getting it tomorrow (I hope). Someone remind me to take a camera.

Congrats on your first Horse! Does the grey paint look like spray bomb or original? If it's original, it sounds like you may have found an older Work Horse model! Could be a Work Horse 800 (1971ish). should have a Tecumseh HH80 on it if it is.

I know a guy who would be interested in some of that stuff if you find anything "extraneous" among it LOL! (we need a smiley jumping up and down with one hand raised saying "ooh, ooh, ooh, me, me, me)

Someone remind me to take a camera.

BTW, Don't forget the camera! :smilewink::smilewink:

These things were over a big bank, guy used his backhoe to get them out.

The decks for the 8 are a little better than you'd expect. Should be able to make one out of the 2.
PICT0091.jpg
Caseguy helped me figure out the models & Years.
The first one is a 1968 Commando 8; the other is a 1976 C-120

History: the 8 was in use until 6 or 7 yrs ago, then he got a bigger mower & stopped using it, the tractor itself lived under a lean-to until last fall when he needed more room. the mower decks were stored outside.
PICT0086.jpg
The 12 has lived the last 10 yrs under a pine tree. Why it's not completely gone, I don't know. It's rough, but probably savable.
PICT0093.jpg
The mower deck (which was laying on the ground beside it) is not savable. It's Swiss Cheese & the spindles are frozen.
PICT0092.jpg
The snowblower I haven't looked at yet, but it was inside until about 5 yrs ago. Hopefully, it's OK even if it's a little rusty. Only thing I know is the chute turns.
PICT0090.jpg
Between the 2, I will be able to get one pair of "Wheel Horse" tires (very checked, but tubeable) and hopefully 2 running tractors.
2 yrs ago, an area Wheel Horse scrapper stopped and offered to buy the 12 and anything else the guy had. At that time he decided not to sell and really wanted to sell them to someone who will "love them a little, not rip them apart."

There are a few people out there with some sentimentality.

Good day with Kaylen, here's a video:
