Been working steady since mid Feb. Started a job that is an hour away, so not much time to check out all threads. Left this morning at 8 AM and got home at 6:30 PM. Just now eating supper! I'm wore out!

I can't offer any advice here, I tried to slow down and change some things and a twist of fate and I'm busier now than before the changes. I haven't even had any tractor time since plow day and it's only going to get worse before it gets better for me. Although I'm not in the exact same boat, I understand.

I hate commuting to work. We are starting a new site on Wednesday or Thursday that is an hour and a half away from home for me. I was offered a job 20 minutes from home today. More money, but running the job. I know most of the guys that would be working under me. I would rather do the hour and a half drive.

Jim

BTW, we appreciate the work you do here.

That is what I am afraid of, Retiring from the City and need to keep working to make ends meet. City job pays ok, and is not physical, but brain taxing and some what stressful. Retirement looks good, but ..... Still on the fence.

Only Cat would come up with a review process. :rolling:

That is what I am afraid of, Retiring from the City and need to keep working to make ends meet. City job pays ok, and is not physical, but brain taxing and some what stressful. Retirement looks good, but ..... Still on the fence.

I was laid off almost 5 years ago at 59. I had planned to retire at 65 but someone up there was watching over me(as has happened many times). I couldn't find an engineering job so I was forced to retire at 62. It was the right thing for me. After 8 months of not working, I woke up one morning and realized that I wasn't in pain for the first time since the early 80s. I still have good days and bad days but even the bad days aren't close to what the bad work days were like.

I was lucky that I stayed with the Army Reserve because the retirement benefits are making a big difference for us. SS alone would not be enough to live on. If we weren't getting enough I would do something nearby and stress free like working at our nearby full service gas station like I did 48 years ago. Do what you have to but don't overdo it. Good Luck, Rick
