Does anyone have one of these beasts? Bought mine new in '96, one sweet machine, mow a 3 acre pasture 6-8 times a year. (wish it had an hour meter)
Have never changed plugs and never had carb off/apart, did flush it good last year,
anyone?
thanks,

Thanks guys. I'll have pics soon,
thanks,

Here's the beast, 20hp ONAN, starting it's 16th season, started right up this morning, last tank in fall has sta-bil, 1st tank in spring has seafoam, uses virtually no oil, very thrifty on gas,
With Swisher 44" trail mower can do 3+ acre pasture in 1hr 15 mins.
The trail mower has it's own story, a non-mechanical neighbor had it in a trash heap, said it was pumping oil, gave it to me, took out dipstick and oil poured out dipstick tube, 8hp Briggs, started 1st pull this morning. It's starting it's 13th season.
thanks,

That's a nice looking unit! Looks like you've kept it well! I'll bet that 20 HP Onan is no slouch either! Thanks for the pics.

Looks like your set up for some serious mowing. I'm happy that you are having good luck with the MTD. Onans are good engines.

Great looking machine Glen. This is a good example of why you should not ever dismiss a sight of an MTD hood sitting in the weeds as just another wore out riding mower. MTD built some very good machines.

Best regards, George

Welcome, Glen, from a not-so-far-away neighbor. Good-looking MTD!

I grew up in Tulsa, spent a lot of years in Bartlesville before moving to NW Arkansas.
