Made this up today to water our row of asparagus. I control flow with valve at the tee, drilled a 5/32" hole at each plant. Our garden has a slight slope so had the block up the lower end with bricks to make the flow even from all the holes. It should make watering them a lot easier this summer as with our low humidity the asparagus requires lots of water.

Very clever!

Would a "soaker" hose work?

Due to our hard water a soaker hose doesn't last long as it gets clogged w/ mineral deposits. The rest of the garden gets watered by a rainbird about 4' above ground and does well for everything but the asparagus.  In hindsight, which I usually have plenty of, I'm going to replace the glue on caps on the ends w/ threaded adapters and screw on caps so I can empty it after each use or I'll have mineral buildup inside and eventually start plugging holes. I'll also install a hose washer w/ screen on the connector to keep out bugs and debris.
