Hi All.  New to the forum and hoping you can help me out.

I have a Ariens A22VA46 riding mower. It was bought new in 2015.  I noticed a piece fell off the other day while mowing and I can't seem to find out what it is, where it came from, or how to repair it.  It's made of rubber. I figured it was some kind of spacer or something to reduce vibrations somewhere on a support arm, but have had no luck pinpointing its place.

Can anyone help me identify this?

I'm not familiar with that mower.  Did you check around your hood, dash tower & grille?  It could be an insulating piece for the hood.  I would think it would be longer though.  I'm just guessing.??

I did, Billy. There are actually two of them that I've found that have fallen off. I can't seem to find a place where they would fit. It looks like the closed cylinder end would go down over some kind of rod or shaft, then the open end would receive or hold some other part that would be prone to vibration or movement.

Parts manual doesn't show them.Maybe there just there for shipping?

Here's the parts manual for your machine.

Wait a minute they do show something like those but it's mislabeled?

Part number 237 (532 40 37-04)  21547588 PLUG.MOUNT.CARGO

They go on the dash and keep the hood from vibrating if that is them.

If that's not them then they could be for shipping. They look like some sort of Bump stop that could of been used to keep the deck carriage or something from clanking around during shipping.

Those aren't them, Eric. But your suggestion brought me to the correct part! It's number 234 on the diagram, just adjacent to the parts you suggested.  Mystery=solved! Thank you!
