So my mom has been officially cancer free for a year and a half now.  :D

She was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer when i was 11. just a couple days after her birthday in June.  in august she had the surgery and she felt horrible. After healing for a while she went to the doctors on October 7th and found out she was cancer free. Its sad that at the age of 38 she got cancer, well, its sad if anyone gets cancer but she was so young. Her family has never had any cancer or even have a sign of having it.

I dare say no family has been spared this dreaded disease, Luke. I am very happy to hear of your Mom's positive diagnosis, and my best thoughts and hopes for her continued good health.

That's great news!  I love hearing things like this.  Thank you for letting us know.  My mom had cancer when I was very young also.  She beat it.  That was a long time ago but I'll never forget it.  She still fixed the meals, got me ready for school, drove herself in for radiation treatments and kept things going.  Mothers are some of the most special people on earth.  Make every moment with yours count.  So happy for you.

Luke, Congrats to your mother and your family for getting past the Big C. It's terrible and as some have said it has more than likely affected all of our families in some way.

Glad it was caught in time.  Since mammograms don't usually start until after 40 breast cancer in younger women often isn't caught early.
