First, thanks to so many pleasant folks here who've helped me with answers. I'm a member of several forums of interest (leather crafting, shooting sports and such), but am unfamiliar with the "thanks" feature on a thread. I have a lifelong habit of thanking folks throughout my life interactions, and sure wouldn't wish to be thought of as rude for not using the accepted way of offering my gratitude to others for posts and help. Could someone plese clue me in? Thanks again. Don.

Don, the "Thanks" button is just that, a thanks. Use it if you wish, dont if you dont. No harm no foul.

If you find a post helpful or you particularly enjoyed the post then you can Thank them.  Quite often I will thank someone who has quoted one of my posts and has added or commented on it.  When I go to other forums and there is no "Thanks" button it is kind of frustrating to me.

Be careful, the thanks can become 'addictive'. If I enter the site without at least 6 thanks waiting for me, I find I must schedule a counseling session with my therapist.

I like to track down exact posts that I was thanked on as kind of a scavenger hunt lol.

Often a "thanks" is the only outside input I get in a day... I'm kind of a hermit up here, lol.

I am no expert, don't claim to be very often. However, I buy too many different things to not know something about everything... But only because I am forced to repair prebroken machines, and had to ask the same types of questions. Therefore, I must give thanks where thanks are due.
