Alright, since we have had some recent postings about mower deck bearings on the MF610 mower deck for the Massey MF10 - MF12. I want to see if anyone knows the bearing sizes or part numbers for spindle bearings on the mower deck for the 1655/1855 belly mower?

We mounted the mower deck I got with the 1655 with front end loader last night. Sharpened the blades and greased the spindles and spun the driveshaft by hand and all seemed nice and smooth. Took the garden tractor out and fired up the deck and it sounded great and then after a couple minutes the one bearing started screeching. I am guessing it started once it got a little warm from being used. I am not going to keep this deck mounted under the tractor for very long as I don't like that I have to turn the deck on to move the front end loader. I have plans to turn it in to a 3 pt finish mower here in the very near future. While I cut with it though, once I got the height adjusted which was all the way up she mowed great.

Did you happen to already have to replace you bearings? Just wondering if you found the information regarding their size or if you measured the old ones?

I found the info on another site and ordered the bearings 2 weeks ago. I rebuilt the spindles today. Now i just have to go through the gear box, snadblast the deck, paint it and replace all the hardware then I can mow with it.

Dang, wish I saw this thread before we ordered most of the parts (from a h&h in kansas). The seals we ordered were $11 a piece, anyway... We had to buy a new shaft for the right spindle (they apparently still sell these, but not the longer left-side shaft) since the bearing surface was all mucked up from the seal falling out and the lower needle bearing failing. Hopefully this beats having the old one machined and repaired.

The only part we've yet to get our hands on is the needle bearing, but thanks to this thread I now know where to get a non-NSK bearing (since it seems really hard to come by). Thanks.
