You said it seemed heavy. These little fellows are well made and have a lot of cast iron in them. I think the manual says it weighs 500lbs with the deck. On mine the worse wear spot was the front spindles. They were toast on the wheel side. I had to build new spindles and replace the wheel bushings. Nice catch!

I, too, would clean it up and leave it original. Too nice to take apart!

The ones you see in the pic are good enough to leave as is, but the front right has seen better days.
I'm thinkin about getting these, and a set I have for the MF12 rechromed. Just gotta find someplace
that won't break the bank.

Being the anal person I am, this survior project is turning into a semi resto.
I just can't leave well enough alone.
Had to clean it up really well, and that's how that decal got demolished.
After that, I figured I might as well keep on sprucing it up.
Sorry, no pics, but the frame is all painted, as well as other parts.
Hood and seat pan will remain as survior parts.

One interesting thing I found, is in the pic.
It was under a strip of foam on the bottom of the gas tank strap.
Anyone seen this before?

Well, by gully there is.
What I really like is the chromed insert where the ammeter would be.
I'll be able to see my smiling face as I drive it.:D
