Found this gem on the Allis auction page on Facebook wants four hundred starting bid doesn't run but turns over claims its prolly a bad head gasket. I'm on the fence about it it isn't often you see a big ten much less one so sharp or in great shape I mean look it even has hydro lift and tool box. So should I bite?

That isn't a bad looking machine. It looks better than the 3 I have. It should have the B&S 243341 engine. Looks like alot of little problems. Check out the videos that Zippo Vargas did on Utube about the machines. He guides you through how to evaluate the condition. Good Luck, Rick

Nice seat, I might consider $150 for a lawn ornament

It would be hard for me to give that much without seeing it in person! Might be that simple of a fix, but could be the rod is no longer attached to the crank!

$400 for a non runner is allot, not much difference in a big ten than a b-10 other than the stickers. Basic motor for sure but difficult to find certain parts. I see lots of small things and have a sneaky suspicion there may be some fresh paint on there. Be allot better at $250

Worth having just not for $400. If it ran and mowed then yes, give it a few weeks and offer him less

I heard that the hydro lift alone is like a 350 dollar part its also comes with manuals I'm only in at 500 if it goes higher I'll let it go. Idk just be cool to have I spent 200 on a non running b206 that needs a total overhaul so I've been known to buy big projects for maybe too much money lol call me what you will I love my b series mowers.

If that was local to me, and I could confirm most of the paint was original, I would buy it for that, possibly even if it needed an engine or BGB. A lot of guys on the internet forums undervalue the AC tractors. These tractors don't just appeal to us lawnmower guys ( like Sears, Wheel Horse, and Bolens who did not produce large AG tractors). They also appeal to AC collectors with much deeper pockets than us who like these tractors as oddities which add some variety to their orange collection. This tractor is nicely optioned out also and has the original sewn-pleated seat. The decal on the toolbox is not original but the toolbox itself might be and if so, they are scarce.

Those guys went bananas.  Several non-original components, at a very 'all original' price.
