I just picked up this estate keeper yesterday. The fellow couldn't get it to run very well. I looked in the fuel tank and knew the issue right away. Rust was clogging the fuel from getting to the carb. Trying to run the tractor to load it onto my trailer further assured me this was the issue in how it acted. While it sat on my trailer today I hit all the grease nipples I could find. I took the fuel tank off and gave it a quick but not complete cleaning along with the fuel line and his brand new filter was still clean the fuel line leading up to it was so caked. I checked tranny fluid and engine oil (but haven't changed them yet,) before taking it off the trailer and running it into the back yard. She ran like a beauty, even smoother than my 1050 which also runs very nice, those old tra10d's are a beautifully running motor with so much power to offer. I will be getting it running well and get the reel mower operating well enough to do some of the mowing duties this summer. Hoping that come next winter it will be my first full restoration.

My first question how would one go about repairing cracks in the cast aluminum? Enjoy the pictures, though my iPad doesn't let me rotate them, I will hop onto my computer at some point to do that

Nice find -  good plan to find all the issues this summer and then do it up right this winter.  Did it come with the original seat or is that on the shopping list?

The seat will be on the shopping list. I am sure you will be part of the quest in some way or another. Along with a good steering wheel and a few more odds and ends.

If you know someone who can weld amuminum they can repair it for you, I had my uncle fix the cracks on my restored EK10

Almost every EK out there has hood cracks.

Congrats, how many are you up to now?

My g12: my first buy before I knew anything about Bolens just needed to cut my grass, soon realized how beefy and amazing it was shortly after that I found all of you great guys on here. With all the reading I did I needed another, one I could beat on.

Than I got my 1050: what a great work horse! Loads of true power in that Wisconsin motor, which fuelled the drive even more so.

My Ht20 follow that, what a beast, my search for large frames will never end now I am sure.

Now my EK10, the reel mower caught my eye to start with. When I first saw the tractor in person yesterday it was so tiny and cute, but I knew the strength it had and feel in love right away.

You did get it. Cool

Sure did. The fellow was nice enough to hold it for me and took what I think is a reasonable price.
Very happy with it. Can't wait to try the reel mower. I'll need to turn down some new rollers firstly though
