  Just one finger in the wrong place and it's bye bye. I didn't see a knot in any of what he split. I believe just one really knotty piece of wood and the thin C-channel is going to fold. Might be safer to have an electric brake on the motor and a foot switch. The way I see it even if the power is cut there's going to be a long overrun before the slide stops.

Gotta give you en "E" for effort anyway  :D

Used to use one of the pointed screw splitters on a tractor PTO for a long time and never even had a close call with it but sure know a lot of people that have had close calls in a hydraulic splitters. Especially if they have someone run the controls for them. :(

Neat idea,but not very safe.One slip and no forgiveness . Then again he is splitting firewood wearing crocks. That sums it up.
