I got the truck finished yesterday. It runs!

 

Hint #1  The cap was heavier than the truck bed.

Hint #2  While your under there check the rear spring shackles, they like to rust away.

Rusted Shackles? WHHAATTTT??? Something else on a Ford can break? I thought they were unbreakable. :poke:  :poke:

 

 

I had to do the weld a nut last night, got all 8 bolts out and bed ready for removal.

Hint #2  While your under there check the rear spring shackles, they like to rust away.

My favorite truck I owned and still have is my little 4 cylinder 5 speed Ranger.  It rotted all the spring hangers and shackles off!  First the rear ones, the springs went into the bed.  Then the front ones rotted off and the springs went into the bed again. 

 

I laid under that thing for a good while grinding rivets off!  Cheap fix, but man was it a pain in the rear.
