The case is a great machine negotiate him down, do more research and find out what the market is in your area to get a better position.

Welcome to GTT. The Cases are great machines but the price is high. Shop around. I bought a running  but damaged Case 222 last fall for $200. I've spent  $200 for parts and it is almost done. It is a great machine. Good Luck, Rick

Joejoe, :welcometogttalk:

I don't know a lot about Case GT, but I think they are good machines, and the price sounds high to me, but I am "cheap"!

Welcome to GTT:wave:

This one isn't restored but a right-nice original.   It was $300 running/mowing.

In my neck of the woods (Indiana), big wheel Case's tend to be expensive.  Its rare to see a decent running, espicaly Onan powered, Case big wheel for under $1K.   Non running ones are in the 300-600 range, usualy with engine related problems.  A 446 in proper tune is a beast of a tractor.   Still prefer diesel powered tractors myself, any flat twins are gas hogs. I would take cash in hand, and make a lower, cash right now, offer and see if he bites.  You might just get lucky.  Mike

My friend who has a lot of Case GT's tells me it is really expensive to fix the Onan engines. If it has a new Onan it could be worth a good price. On the other hand if it has been replaced with an other type engine it is worth a lot less.

If it is a new engine and a fresh build on the deck, tractor might be near the asking price. I spent a ton of $ on a 19.9 Onan that was in a 982 Super CC. Tractor was sold and I made zero profit on the turn key and mowing tractor sale. Good luck! My neighbor runs a 446 and it's a nice worker. .

I have a 446. I rebuilt deck a few years ago. New shafts pulleys and bearings. I think at least 200 or more just in deck.  And a new onan...boy I think it almost worth 1600. Anything less is good deal.  {My opinion}
