Found this on C/L and it listed and decaled as a "Wizard" but looks like a Springfield. I wonder if Springfield built tractors for Western Auto?

They don't know their engines since that is a Briggs and Stratton.

I will see if I can go look at it up close tomorrow if we get a break in the weather. I think I saw this a few weeks ago around Cameron by a different seller but I am not sure. I called to make sure that it belonged to who I thought it did. He is in Lott which is South of Waco. He wants $1000 for it. That is not near as bad as the MTD 990 that he wanted $3500 for with no deck. He buys up most of the older stuff unless you get to it right quick..

Oh Caasseeeyyyyy. We have a question for yyooouuuu.

Sounds like the same guy who got the 102 from me and trying to sell it for $2000.

It is indeed a Briggs and my Springfield is shaken by Kohler

And Doug is the winner. The frame and dash are a dead giveaway to this being a 1965-67 Gilson built tractor. I have one with different grille, but still Gilson. I kinda thought distant cousins because the Gilson is built very similar, but way beefier front end, etc.

That guy rigs stuff long enough to get rid of it. I don't like people that buy garden tractors to resell for higher prices.

The tractor was built by Gilson. The original design of the tractor was by Burns Manufacturing Co. Louisville, Georgia. Burns was bought out by Gilson in early 60s. We sold Burns and then sold Gilson after they were bought. I still have my Burns tractor, but an interesting thing is that in my manual there is a picture of the front of the tractor that has the name Penfield on it. In another picture it has the Burns name.
