I have a pair of Bolens rear wheels that I need to redrill to the Panzer pattern.. then some 10" wide ag tires will go on those. The fronts are pretty much what it is now... minus maybe going with a stiffer walled tire.

Thanks Amazon! Bonus gear was stuck inside the bore of the larger gear. Has a retail of $20!

Maybe the other two gears "rubbed together" in shipping and the little one wasnt in there when they boxed them up

Believe I have a steering plan now to try again... so I moved into the gas tank mount. Which coincidentally will help support the steering too.

Well there has been work done on this project. But not progress really. I think I have been through 5 different steering designs and nothing has worked acceptable. Keeping the steering wheel in OE position has presented a huge problem with the large motor and different axle assembly. I described to go with cable steering off a vintage boat. I bought the spool and steering shaft NOS on eBay. Then picked up some 3/16 nylon coated cable and a bunch of idler pulleys. At the ends will be some compression o style fittings that will pin down to a block of steer that's nutted in place on the steering tie rod. More pictures will follow after the design works. Lol.

I just want to get past this. The fuel tank has been fabricated and fuel sensing unit installed. She's almost ready to work on drive belt tensioning.

I think it'll work! Some minor washer shimming and lock nuts instead of regular and it'll do the trick! Also have to put some heatshrink on the cable where I had attached the ends.

For sure...  I have a tachometer, fuel level gauge, and oil pressure gauge to install somewhere.. so I was thinking of building a gauge pod there to serve double-duty. Just wanted to prove the design first. 

 

I also plan on shrouding the cables once they leave the rectangular box tubing portion of the frame.

Some picture updates. Got my cable covers tacked on. Also started fabbing the new hood/steering support frame. This will also hold the dash panel. I will be removing the OE piece after. The steering spool cover idea is there but I need a longer piece of pipe.

Hood and dash support is coming along nicely. Next up slotted cable tension adjustment plate. Then can bend some sheetmetal for the dash pieces.

Oh hell ya. She works very nice. Milled out slots in some steel plate and tack welded it to the hood support. Gives me great cable tensioning and will stay hidden behind the dash.

Will swap threaded bolts for shoulder bolts on final assembly. For now cables are just sliding in the pulleys or some are left a little loose.
