That may be an option. I'm going to double check the rotation of the 90deg gear box shown in the pictures. If that works out I may end up with a power king style steering system.

One other option might be to use what you have and use a relay rod over to a rock shaft located on the right and then run a short drag link from the rock shaft to the Bolens front end as I think that would have the wheels steering in the correct direction - however that may get complicated to get enough movement without things binding - best to keep it as simple as possible - good luck.

The further I get into the build the more I should of just started with a power king. Hahah. Seems like I'm getting closer to one minus hydraulics.

Of course getting a power king for 200$ is not possible. Lol.

Hindsight is usually 20/20 but just think of the fun you are having.

Well it looks like the best solution is going to be building myself a steering rack and pinion. I have some of the gear track stock and one of the pinion gears for a 3/4" input shaft. See how it goes! Fab to start tomorrow during lunch.

Should work out fairly well. Not a whole lot of time to work today but happy with the pieces.

Looks good - I assume the bearing is self aligning so are you planning on putting a bushing on the other side to keep the gear parallel to the track?

Yes sir I will be taking a piece of 1/2" thick mild steel plate and bore a 3/8" or so deep by 3/4" diameter relief to act as a shaft support on the back side.

Some more steering box work. I need to mount the bearing and do some mill work on the gear rack to accept rod ends. Also bore a hole through the pinion gear collar and shaft to insert a roll pin. Then create some end caps. Thinking it may hang off the stock steering vertical stem. In theory anyway!
