Tube frames was bolens bread and butter they made that line one of the best lines of GT ever built.   But they were massed produced in the 100,000 numbers over all modals total.

Brian,not sure I can agree with that statement totally,I agree that they may not have been made quit as good as the other seats,but they wouldn't have known that in just one years time IMO,I would think it would have taken a couple years to see just how good they would hold up,got to believe it was a cost factor,would have taken more time to assemble that type of seat over the new style seat like on the 1050's

I would tend to think the same, the 1000 seats we had refurbished are actually quite well made and sturdy, but once they have worn out are not easily or cheaply refurbished, this combined with the weak fiberglass fender design probably made people just swap out the seat or seat/fender combo with an "upgraded" kit from a 1050 since they were so plentiful.
