I re-bearinged my original Ariens Amp mower deck motors.  I currently have my spare motors in it.  I took some pics for anyone that hasn't seen the inside of these.  These are brushless (basically AC) motors.  This is a simple task if you have the right tools.  It takes bearing separaters, harmonic balancer puller, vise, and a rubber mallet.  A Dremel with a wire wheel for cleanup is nice as well.

These are mower deck spindles? Never seen anything like this on an Ariens, very cool. Is the tractor an electric power tractor? Can you post some photos of the deck and tractor?

Yep...all electric.  Ariens made them for 3 or 4 years.  Here is a link to a site that has some good info.  The pics of the one with the 12V marine batteries is my machine.  The OEM battery packs were junk, sometimes not lasting even 1 summer.  My marine battery conversion has worked flawlessly.

Boy, that's a cool machine for sure. I have given some thought to converting one of my tractors to electric just because I would like to have one. I snagged a photo of yours to put here, I hope that's OK?

That mower isn't mine.  Mine is the one with the marine battery up front.  That one belongs to the guy that runs the website.  I doubt he would mind though.
