That's pretty cool Noel! I drive old GMC's but a '63 Rambler Classic 660 was my first car! Even though I have a couple of treefly trucks I hate when folks put Chevy engines in other makes or the other way around too for that matter so I also gotta hand it to you for keeping it AMC at heart. I wish I was rich enough to replace the Chevy 230 I-6 someone put in my '55 way before I got it but it is a great little engine. A GMC 248 is a tough find.

Can you post links to other threads you've done about this car? I'd dig seeing them!

Not fast enough for the 64 Impala I had! Blew the doors off those everyday!

I've had a couple of nice ImpalaSS, I call hem fat boy cars because they're big and comfy. They can also be fast.

I believe the terminology was "north american gas eating road boats".

Compared to today's cars they sure did ride nice but the handling was terrible.

The hair stood up on the back of my neck when I saw the Borg Warner automatic. Could you still find parts for that?

Not been apart, we are hoping its good. Putting new filter in and oil. Only 38,000 miles on the transmission.
