As many of you read in a couple previous posts I recently acquired my grandfathers tractor. I got it running a couple of days ago. Hearing it run brought back every memory I have of riding it as a kid. I would go out on it after breakfast, and ride it until lunch time, and then of course I'd have to go back out, many times until dinner. I spent hours on it as a kid, and I am more than thrilled to have it back in the family. Again, I can't thank everyone involved enough times.

I will post pictures of me now, and when I was a kid.

Mike

That is great to see you on it again.  I'm so glad you shared the photographs of you and your family on it from years ago.  They are so special.

I told you, "ran when parked".   LOL   :D  :dancingbanana:

Loved the story!  The smile on your face as an adult tells us everything!

I don't know much about White tractors.  What are some of the specs. on your tractor?

Hope to see you and the WHITES at Canandaiqua in August.

I plan to be there. I plan to bring the 110, and the 114, though it isn't running yet. If I have to, ill pull it onto the trailer with the 110. :D

Are Jacobsen's welcome there?

It is basically the same tractor as a Jacobsen 1000. It has the 10 HP kohler, gear drive, and a 42 inch mowing deck. I have had a few jacobnsen's, but the WHITE's have always held a very special place with me.

Having a family piece is a special feeling.
It's a physical connection to those who aren't with us any longer and enjoyed time with the machine and us.
It doesn't matter what they look like, or how long it's been... you turn the key and put it in gear and suddenly you're 8 again and your loved one is right there with you.

Congrats on getting your tractor home and  on getting that ride.

I could not have said it any better. It's also true as soon as I pulled out of the garage, I was instantly reminded of riding around for hours on end. It had been a very long time, but I was instantly taken back to when I was a kid, pulling grandpa around in the wagon he had built. It was a great feeling.
