Anybody have any rusty stuff they want sell/trade to a newbie to start out his working collection? I am retiring from military INTO farming (I know, novel idea) a small acreage in the eastern panhandle of WV and want to do all the ground work with a GT. Specifically looking for plow, cultivator, harrow, tiller, and back blade. I can't forget need a snowblower too. Heck if I can't afford your price WILL WORK FOR TRACTOR PARTS!

If you can weld and do metal working, here's a drawing of he integral (sleeve) hitch for the 100, 200 and I think it's the same on the closed frame 300 series tractors.

A lot of us went from bikes, fast boats and fast cars, to puttering around on a tractor. It's called maturity (getting old). :D

The 314 is a open frame tractor, so I don't think that sleeve hitch will work with his tractor. The closed frame tractors were the 300, 316 with the Kohler and 317.

This is exactly why I'm coming to the experts. Like most of us my budget isn't big and I gotta do it right the first time.

What would be the JD part# for the sleeve hitch be? I may have a deal made for a Brinly mold board plow, disc harrow, and cultivator (all sleeve hitch) for $250.

I just looked on JD parts and they have the whole hitch listed as part AM31668. The one you show in your other thread might work, you'll have to get the distance between the mounting ears to be sure. Not to mention you'll need the linkage bar.

I was wrong on the 314 being a open frame, it is a closed frame along with the 312. Sorry for the mix up.

So it's not a complete hitch, what do linkage bars go for?
