hello i am trying to find out what allis chalmers garden tractor my father had. i have no clue model or year. i will describe it as well as i can to hopefully figure this tractor out. i loved this tractor and would love to find another to have for myself and restore like my father did.

im thinking it was 80s or so. i believe it had a 12-16 hp kohler. 4 speed i believe but it had a unique high low range which flipped a belt from one size pulley to another. putting this tractor in high was definitely impressive as it would move at a very fast speed for a garden tractor. it was electric start. it had part of a 3 pnt hitch setup that was electric lift. the mower would have been raised and lowered by this same electric cylinder.

if anyone has pictures, ads or model of this tractor description and would care to share any and all information it would be appreciated. i look forward ending my hunt for this chalmers and rebuilding one just like my father and sharing it with my kids.

From simpletractors.com
This High-Low pulley system was available for all Allis-Chalmers B-Series tractors prior to the B-110/112, and all Simplicity Landlords/Sovereigns prior to the 2110 and 3012. A different two-speed system was available for Broadmoors and later 700/7000 series tractors.
The early b series didn't have an electric lift that I know of, only hydraulic.
The 700 series had one listed tho

Sorry I meant to type Allis Chalmers garden tractors but it auto corrected me then click tractor data link there you can scroll through the horsepower and years and model that should get you started once you find a close match try looking up that specific tractor. You should find info if it had an electric lift or not, that should be rather uncommon I would think. Good luck ask if you need any mor help.

Kind of sounds like the 716 model as they had a 6-speed (3 Hi & 3 Lo). Those were late 70's.

But we're the high - low switches done by belt?
Yep! Got the rear out of Alice sitting out back! One belt, two pulleys on both the BGB and the rear end.
