A co-worker asked me if I wanted another riding lawn mower and I didn't hesitate and said yes. He said that his FIL had one he wanted to give me if I wanted it. The tractor broke a drive belt and when he replaced it he couldn't get it to move again. he replaced the tractor with a zero radius mower and just didn't need the tractor around anymore. To make the deal even sweeter, he would deliver it when he had a chance. Well the tractor arrived while I was at work Monday so it was waiting for me when I got home Tuesday. The riding tractor is a 1993 White LT145 model # 133R696G190. It is hydrastatic drive with a 14 Hp B&S Vanguard motor. It came with a 42" deck and a double bag grass collection system. It also came with all of the manuals for both the tractor, the engine and the grass collection system. There is some surface rust where the paint has come off.

I rolled it into the garage and started looking at what might be wrong. I noticed that the drive belt was too loose. I looked at the manual to determine how the belt should be tensioned and then looked at the tractor and noticed that the spring for the belt tensioner was hooked in the wrong direction and then I noticed a hole with a wear spot from a spring. I moved the spring and the belt tensioned up nicely. I started the tractor and it moved without a problem. I think it took me about 15 minutes to find and correct the problem.

I have since pressure washed the entire tractor and mowing deck. I sharpened the blades on the deck. I changed the oil and picked up a new air filter for it today. I will remount the mowing deck and the grass collection system later this weekend.

Here is a couple of pictures of it together.0426111640.jpg Posted Image

Nice. It great when the problem is a simple fix, and to boot, the price was right. Good deal!
