Texas Deere and Horse asked if I would post pics of the buckets I put around the plants to protect from wind. I drilled holes at the top in case weights were needed and I keep the lids handy in case of hail. The vertical gate is for my cukes to climb so they aren't laying on the ground and taking over the other plants. The small maple tree I planted last year at 30" tall, it is doing good and will provide afternoon shade before long.

I got some 1/2" PVC pipe and made a sprinkler system. I hook a hose to each end and it does pretty well, drilled a few too many holes though. But small screws take care of unwanted holes.
We have Brocolli, onions, maters, and bell peppers so far. Need to get the cukes and radishes planted. Just the two of us, so don't need a lot of space.

Kenny, nice looking garden. Good idea on the buckets and pvc watering system. The scarecrow is a nice touch.

Thanks, guys. I will probably pull the buckets once the plants get a little sturdier. Just didn't want the 40 mph winds to mow them down, supposed to get more wind tomorrow. The sprinkler system works pretty good, got too many holes drilled. Putting small screws into holes I don't need, makes it work much better.
