I actually thought ahead and ordered her something a few weeks ago, never heard or thought about It till mid week then a light and an oh s^&t.  call the company and they assure me it has been shipped and will be here for the weekend.  sat afternoon nothing!!!  I wound up just wishing her a happy valentines as I always do and taking her to lunch.

For one time I think ahead and I get screwed!!!

If you read the first sentence and the last line petrj6 it sounds like you had a good valentines day.

There is no real solid way to understand the female psyche on this particular day.

Just be happy you lived through it.

We saw The Finest Hours. A Coast Guard rescue movie. I recommend it.

Around our house Valentines Day is pretty much the first Mother's Day of the year. Daughter, Son and I bought her a box of truffles and flowers yesterday. Wife's been sick since last Friday, then daughter came down sick yersterday after buying this stuff so they slept most the day today. i got to spend some quality time with a NP205 transfer case I'm getting ready for a rebuild.

I worked in the shop putting the different engine in the Cub Cadet.  Carolyn made a 70 mile run to pick up another pair of insulated curtains for our North windows.  bought 2 Wednesday but were not wide enough.  Got two more and works out much better.  Had a fired chicken supper with home grown sweet potatoes and veggies.  Watched TV and found the covers.  About our typical.  She says buy this candy and flowers that are done in a few days is not her cup of tea.  No phone calls and did out own thing.  Kind of the way we like it.

Cool stuff there.
My wife got me a card, a kiss and a Hug, it's all I ever want anyways.

Got my mom a bunch of carnations. One of her favorites.
My wife, I bought a bunch of Roses and attached a coupon to each one for things we wouldn't normally do together.
Movies
Bowling
Taking in laws to dinner
Shopping
Etc

All the family here for Valentine's, so I cooked, washed dishes, cooked... you get the drift. Wonderful weekend with family, flowers, chocolates, and now they've all left again. Just me and the dogs and cats to survey the wreckage and do the laundry. Good deal!
