I know what you mean. 19 years ago today I lost my wife at 4:30 am due to massive heart attack.  Have not liked Feb 14 th ever since.  My son was married on Feb 14 about 35 years ago and he lost his wife about a month ago, just a month after his oldest daughter passed with cancer.  Not a good time of year for us but we go forward.

So sorry to hear of these tragedies.  You are evidently strong willed folks, and to be admired.

Sorry to hear about all the family tragedies,  i hear you with the time frames we hate, mine is mostly between February to May to be the nastiest times for me , but i understand that everybody goes through troubled times , so we just got to keep our heads up

My boss lost his wife just before Christmas a year back.
He has managed to keep it together, but it's GOT to be hard.
She was his everything, and for him to keep on functioning has to be in memorial to her.

Shane, I'm sorry to hear that you are having such troubles. Sometimes it feels like life just wants to crush you. DON'T LET IT. I take a "sanity pause" from things. Just get away and do something different for a few hours. I like hikes on old trails in the woods or going to a fleamarket or museum. These things distract me for awhile to let my mind clear abit.

For me this is a good and bad day. 38 years ago I finally got out of Walter Reed Army Hospital for a couple of days after months in the place. It was still months more before I got back to my unit. 9 years ago, we had ice and I fell. I've had a back problem since.

You've got friends here. We will help you get through this. Good Luck, Rick

We cruise along for months and even years, one day much like the day before, smooth sailing, then one morning we open the door and there stands the dragon.

ty for the support & i will be out for a week as i'm going bush probably tomorrow i think , get some brain time i reckon

But like i said was on the rocks for a bit ( years )so sort of knew it was coming, ya just know sometimes writing on the wall !

but she did come to me & talked in a sensible fashion about the separation as she( Diane ) wanted to move on in a different direction

so no legal muck fight (court )as i can see over the little girl & such , can see her at will , she just wants a different life

, so all i can do is let her go gracefully , cause holding her back will only make it go sour far as i have learnt in life , so be sensible & be a friend all i can do

i have a pretty clear head about this so i'll try to sort it as quick as i can & get on with life no matter the upset , only thing to do

As i have always said ; life was not meant to be easy , but did not have to be this hard .

Shane

P.S. as i said earlier most have had a bad trot over time as a few of you guys have mentioned in here & other threads ,but some more than others & i know there is other people worse off than me & ty for being good listeners

I is how you look a things.

some times bad things can to good in the long run.

and good things can be bad,

I always think " Things happen for a reason"

It hope to try to look on the positive side of things.

And not believe there things are always good on the other side of the fence.

Good times and bad times. They all build who we are.

I remember when me and my first wife got divorced, my life was a wreck. I went from having 2 new cars, a 2 story 2500 sq foot house, and building my life to 3 months later living in my old bedroom at my parents house, and driving around in an old pickup.

But here I am now. Married again, 2 great kids, another on the way and happy as can be. Work is troubling right now with all the lays off.

Loved ones are never truely gone. I firmly believe they are always with us and we will all be reunited one day!

Not trying to take away from your problems or heart aches. As you said we always have to keep our head up.
