There is a guy near by that has a 1959 wonderboy 700 not running. I have a wheelhorse c160 not running. Both in about the same condition. I am a Allis Chalmers/ Simplicity nut. The wheelhorse I have has the k341 13 fin 16 hp ( needs rebuilding but complete). Would this be a good trade or am I crazy?

Welcome to GTtalk I would guess that the 59 wonder boy is harder to come by than a WH C160 . And since your AC/S guy...

Welcome to GTTalk !!   For me a trade or sale is only good if it makes ME feel like a good deal . I found some people wouldn't sell you something but would trade for a lesser value part, tractor ect   go figure lol

Welcome aboard !! For the most part these things are NOT gonna make you money as an investment. It's not like 5 years from now you'll say "man I should have kept that one cause its worth way more than this one" Its all in what you want them to do and what you like.

ie: some people like "bug-eye" headlights, some people don't.  ie: you wouldn't try pulling a two-bottom plow with a 6hp Craftsman Rider.....So the question really is which one do you like more and what do you plan to do with it?

Good Luck and welcome to the fray !

I agree with the above; if you prefer the Allis/Simplicity go for it. Personally I would also trade for the 700. Except for a few rare exceptions there really isn't money to be made in collecting GT's so you may as well just trade for the one you prefer.

I guess I'm just having a hard time deciding which I prefer. The WH C160 is a much bigger tractor with a very rare engine block( the 13 fin block -k341 kohler - is the ones that pullers want). I had originally thought about trying to put my 2 cyl Wisconsin TFD engine in it. But I also collect Allis Chalmers and Simplicity tractors ( I have : b112, big ten , early b10, simplicity 717, and several implements for The b series.) Just not sure which to do.

Welcome!  I'd have to vote for the Wonderboy.  WH does nothing for me and I really enjoy tractor-trading.

Myself, I'd keep the WH, but then you're an AC/Simplicity guy.  As long as both parties end up happy, then it's a good swap.

I have a good c160 and rely on it for snow blowing... But if someone had a sears planter or something else in my bucket list, I'd be seriously considering.

If you don't need the tractor and you don't bleed that color paint, find it a good home and get what you want.

Oh, and :welcometogttalk:
