Re the seat, its hard to do those molded seats without having seams in it. The fabric/vinyl will bunch up in the bend areas.

What I do doesn't look factory, but does look ok and works pretty well for me.

I peel the old vinyl off the foam - use a sharp putty knife to "skin" the old vinyl off. Then I cut the upright (back) section of the foam off the bottom section and upholster it as 2 pieces.

Permatex makes a spray headliner/upholstery glue - comes in an orange spray can - I use that to glue the new vinyl onto the foam base, putting a long tail over the back of the seat base and onto the bottom of the pad. This helps keep the foam from getting wet if it rains on the seat. I build the base (bottom) cushion first, then glue the finished assembly onto the metal seat pan. I put some weights on the seat to hold it onto the pan overnight so the glue sets up good.
Then do the same thing with the seat back, again putting a tail on the bottom edge that goes around to the back. If you scrunch the upright down when you glue it to the base, you only get a small line where the 2 edges meet that is not noticeable.
Then I glue the apron onto the side edge of the foam and to the seat base and put the striping on to hold the fabric onto the frame edge.
Takes longer to explain than to do - about 30 minutes work and a couple days for the glue sections to dry.
I buy my vinyl and supplies online from a fabric supply place - is cheaper that way. And definitely go with marine grade vinyl.....
If your pad foam is torn or ripped, you can use the same glue to glue the tears back together or add some replacement foam if you need to. If you need replacement foam, keep your eyes open for a discarded sofa cushion or stuffed chair cushion - it will give you more than you need for free!

Just a little update the motor is rebuilt with new bearings an gaskets the carb is rebuilt now all I have to do is paint the blower housing an the motor is done other then decals. I pull the rear section an rear axle out of the it should be easier to paint all the tight spots now an replace the broken parking brake spring an anything else I find. The seat pan is welded an painted I did get my quote to have the seat done an for $100 im not going to try an do it myself an that will include new foam.
