Ran across a White GT2055 today. Everything was nice and straight but the paint was faded. Three point hitch was complete and had. A Brinly adapter with scrape blade. Non running and hour meter shows 48 hours which has to be inoperable or has been replaced. I have been givin first bid if they decide to sell. Giving the fact it is non running what would be a good place to start? $200,$300?

Pics would help, I have a thing about non running tractors.  I don't care what it is or how rare if they don't run they aren't worth more then $200 unless they have attachments to go with them.  On a side note I know where there is a very large white gt setting beside a barn I could probably get for free just never had a big want for it.

$200-$450 if it is in the condition you described. The Brinly adapter is $100, Blade $250, 3pt $100, and tractor is worth at least $300!

Thank you for the responses. I usually try not to spend more than $200 on a non runner but this one kinda threw me off because around here it would be very rare. I will get some pics next time I get down there. I left my phone at home yesterday. For some reason my wife thinks that was intentional ;)

If I recall correctly, those are a pretty nice tractor. I would be looking at the overall condition of wheels, tires, steering etc to get a feel for how many hours are on it and how much maintenance was done and then adjust my offer accordingly.

OA, I would be good at $300.00 or so for everything not being able to see it.

I would love to find one of those, good luck!!

Wasn't the White line of GT's made by MTD or did they build their own?  If their own build would be in the $3-400.  If by MTD a couple hundred for the attachments and forget the tractor.  Just my opinion of MTD products.

The tractor is the same as the old MTD 990 style heavy duty built tractor with a 20hp twin in it. Very well built gt.

It us supposed to be the same as a 990 MTD built in the mid 90's before everyone cheaped up their products to sell in the big box stores. It is a heavy built tractor with a shaft driven hydro that has high and low range. Also has hydraulic lift and shaft driven deck.

NOT a 990! Only similarities are the series (900) and rear end. Motor/Frame/Tins etc. Are different. There were 990's, 992, 995, 998, and 999's. The White GT-18/2055 were a 995/998 and the White Yard-Boss machines (1200/1250 were 960's) were a 990 (1650, 1655, 1850). All built by MTD. All use a Peerless 2560 rear end, with an Eaton 11 hydro pump. Limited slip, and static load ratings of well over 2k lbs (2,152 to be exact). Very capable machines! Don't let the MTD branding fool you. The newer 18/20-55's used Vanguard V-twin's. While the older ones used a Briggs opposed L-head twin. 990 and up had hydro lift, 960 down had mechanical (Still had 3-pt hitches though!). 18xx and up have 1" front spindles, as did the 990's equipped with factory FEL's.

If you're buying for a user, that's great, but this is way too new to carry any value for a WHITE OLIVER collector.

I talked to them again and now they say there are two of us wanting the tractor and the one with the most money gets it. It really does not matter that much to me and I am not going to get in a bidding war over it. My max is $300 and if the other guy wants to pay more it is his.

It's a good idea for you to set your price and walk away. That is hard to do, at least for me at times. Looks like it would be a great deal at $300. I've seen a couple Whites similar to that around here with a few attachments for sale, asking much, much more than that. MTD is capable of building decent tractors

I wouldn't give more unless you needed a good parts tractor, with out it running you have no idea on whether the hydro is working, and some one had the plate at the console removed for a reason. But other than the side shields missing it looks complete
